Air Premia Expands Fleet with Eighth Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner for Global Reach

Air Premia Takes Major Steps in Fleet Expansion

Air Premia, South Korea's leading hybrid airline, has made a significant move in its growth strategy by acquiring its eighth aircraft, a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, delivered on June 25, 2025. This addition marks a push towards enhancing fleet capacity and expanding global routes.

The newly delivered Dreamliner is equipped with state-of-the-art Rolls-Royce engines and offers a total of 344 seats, comprising 35 in premium economy and 309 in standard economy. This modern addition aligns with the airline's goal of providing quality service while maximizing efficiency across its operations.

Following the standard inspection procedures mandated by regulatory authorities, the newly added aircraft is set to enter service imminently. With this latest addition, Air Premia aims to boost operational stability while improving service quality throughout its rapidly growing network. The incorporation of this aircraft sets the stage for sustained business growth as they prepare for a robust increase in passenger demand in the second half of the year.

In addition to the aircraft, Air Premia is also set to add a fourth spare engine, enhancing its operational flexibility and readiness to respond to various service demands. This expanded fleet allows the airline to scale up its services on existing high-demand routes while also introducing new destinations to its growing itinerary.

Presently, Air Premia operates four transpacific routes that include Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, and Honolulu. Furthermore, its Asian routes cover major cities like Bangkok, Tokyo Narita, Da Nang, and Hong Kong. This strategic concentration on mid- to long-haul markets signifies Air Premia’s commitment to ensuring a distinct service model tailored to customer needs.

An Air Premia spokesperson commented, "This eighth aircraft signifies much more than just an addition to our fleet. It's a crucial milestone that aids in expanding our global network. We are dedicated to maintaining safe and timely operations and to winning the continued trust of our passengers."

As a Hybrid Service Carrier (HSC), Air Premia offers advantageous services at competitive prices, aiming to become a beloved choice for value-conscious travelers. Recently, AP Holdings (from Tire Bank Group) has acquired a 70% stake in Air Premia, becoming its largest shareholder, further solidifying the company's financial backbone for growth.

Air Premia operates with a philosophy of providing high-quality services while focusing on essential offerings at reasonable prices. Since launching its first international flights in July 2022, the airline has rapidly established itself with flights to key locations like Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Bangkok, and Narita. These long-haul routes are a significant part of its appeal, offering travel options not typically available through low-cost carriers, all while staying competitive against traditional long-haul airlines.

With the goal of catering to the current demand for value-driven travel, Air Premia’s expansion and service strategy appears well-aligned with emerging industry trends.
