Yutong Unveils the Next Generation IC12E Electric Bus at UITP Summit 2025

Yutong Bus, a leading global manufacturer of commercial vehicles, presented its cutting-edge innovations in electric transportation with the launch of the IC12E electric intercity bus during the UITP Summit 2025 held in Hamburg, Germany. The Yutong IC12E is engineered with high-quality batteries to provide exceptional performance on long-distance routes. On June 19, the IC12E undertook a challenging journey across four European countries, covering a total distance of approximately 1,272 kilometers from Hamburg to Oslo, passing through Copenhagen and Gothenburg along the way.

The route was carefully selected to include a variety of driving conditions, such as urban streets, highways, bridges, coastal roads, and inclines, allowing for comprehensive testing of the IC12E's capabilities. Initial test data indicated an impressive energy consumption rate of just 0.7 kWh/km over the course of the journey, demonstrating the bus's efficiency in utilizing energy resources.

During the journey, the IC12E successfully tackled a range test of 510 kilometers from Germany to Denmark, reducing its battery state from 99% to 31%, with an additional estimated range of 170 kilometers still available. These results highlight the exceptional adaptability and performance of the IC12E within diverse environments.

Rapid Charging and Robust Power

The IC12E also showcased its rapid charging capabilities. It could recharge from 13% to 99% in just 1 hour and 40 minutes using a single charging gun. Furthermore, the bus demonstrated strong power by overcoming gradients of up to 20% during the demanding Norwegian terrain, solidifying its reputation for robust performance on challenging routes.

Yutong U12: A Premium Urban Option

In addition to the IC12E, Yutong also introduced the U12, a premium electric bus for major urban routes. The award-winning U12 features a length of 12 meters and can accommodate up to 95 passengers.
